Hotel manager job?

I am currently working for a large group of hotels. I have been with them for 4 years and they won't let me become an hotel manager despite 4 positions open. I have 20 years of hotel experience with 3 past hotel manager experience. what should I do? Send my resume to another group? I am 45. Location Texas(Dallas)

  1. hate to say it, but do you have a degree with the hospitality industry?  there are a lot of new schools pumping out new graduates everyday that are looking for jobs in your line of work and they will certainly work for a much lower starting

    salary. hope things work out for you (go cowboys).

HAve you applied with the HR department with your chain of Hotels that your interested?  Don't go through your immediate supervisor, but actually apply with the corporate office.  If you try going through your immediate manager, he may not forward your interest on as to not want to lose you as an employee.  If you enjoy this company, then would suggest you apply, if they pass then ask why, and what goals do you need to acheive to be promoted.  Agree on a timeline for these goals, and a time for regular reviews to mark progress.  Dont give up on a company, unless you have made an full out effort, don't just assume they will offer it to you, if they have no idea you are interested.  If you have shown interest, and they still don't offer you the job or a reason, then I would suggest you look elsewhere...
