Question:

Hotel near waterloo station?

I would like some help finding a good hotel near the Waterloo station. I am looking to stay in London for 10 days in the beginning of October and treat London like my hub to travel elsewhere throughout England (and Cardiff and Endinburgh).

There are so many hotels and SO many that have very bad reviews that it is quite overwhelming? All I want is a clean hotel with a comfortable bed!

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!! (my top budget is $80-90/night).

  1. you want the "premier travel inn"  - COUNTY HALL next to the london eye. you can walk from the train station.

oh, and you're not going to find anything for that price in central london.

May i recomment the premier travel inn in south wimbledon. it's right next to the colliers wood tube station and may be more what you are lookng for. it's very handy for a week in london.

  2. Marriot has lovely location on the River Thames, with Big Ben and Houses of Parliament  - near Waterloo, but prices won't be lovely!

I found a great selection of clean budget novotel type establishments and chose a Comfort Inn. Big breakfast and clean rooms.

  3. The Marriot is beautiful but very pricey indeed. $80-90 = £40-45 which is very cheap. I suggest going to Travelodge's website who have hotels everywhere. You don't really want to stay near Waterloo - the trains run almost all the time, I used to live in North Lambeth which was about 5 mins away fro Waterloo and the trains ran all the time. However, I could see Big Ben from my kitchen and heard the bells all the time! Kensington has lots of hotels and the area near Victoria is very nice.
