Hotel recommendation and here are my criteria...?

Question

1. willing to spend only $40-$80/nite...cheaper is always better.

2. must be close to hollywood, universal, nbc studios for jay leno's show, mann's theater and beach.

3. what is the beach weather like in around oct.? can u swim?

4. won't have a car...so close to metro (subway, bus stop) is a must.

if u have any recommendation, please name the hotel or link to it would be great!

During my last trip I came across a website called http://www.cheaphotel-s.com . It has quite a large variety of hotels. You might wanna give it a try.

Yikes. for that price, you might wanna do some homework and find a good hostel to crash at. It would probably be nicer than any motel you're going to find, and safer too.

Any motel that cheap will have alot of "hourly" traffic .... to get any decent hotel, add a "1" in front of the $40-$80

For $40 - $80 you are going to end up in the hood! You might have to up that a little and you could get something in North Hollywood. October is in the 70's at the beach, you can swim but the water will be cold. LA doesn't have good public transportation.
