Question:

Hotel recommendation for central Paris?

In late May, I will be travelling to Paris with two people. We would like a nice hotel (no less than 4 stars) in central Paris.

Obviously, prices are astronomically high, made even worse by the very low value of the dollar. I will be paying for two of the three rooms, so I don't want anything higher than $150 a night per room. What hotels can you recommend?

The problem with hotel websites is that the fotos are often very deceptive. I once booked a hotel whose fotos made it look like an upscale boutique hotel, when in fact the rooms were miniscule, and the beds seemed like they came from IKEA.

The most important consideration is a nice, big, comfortable bed. It would be nice if the hotel had a pool or fitness center, but in central Paris I doubt I would find that.

  1. Do not hesitate to check this website :

    www.ratestogo.com

From my experience (I have been on/off Paris for some time), it's reliable and offer last-minute good deals. I once had a 4* hotel near Bastille for 80 € / night. So, it's possible.

Central areas are the following "arrondissements" :

    1 - 2 - 3- 4 - 5 - 11 - 9

    They roughly correspond to :

Le Louvre - Rivoli - Palais Royal - Le Marais - St Michel, Quartier Latin - Bastille - Grands Boulevards, Opéra.

Hum, and you're right, it's very unlikely that you'd find a hotel with a pool.

  2. Your expectation is unrealistic. A four star in central Paris will run more than $225.

  3. some good places

  4. Hello, the booking.com works great for me (personal opinion).

You can find good offers, reviews and ratings from guests (a great tool to decide based on other people bad or good staying experience).

I'm using it when I want to travel abroad and I didn't have any problems. The hotels and the rooms were exactly as I red and saw on site.

The maps also gives you an idea where the hotels reside in the city.

  5. In central Paris, obviously you'll never find a 4 stars hotel less $ 150/room/night. And with pool or fitness center???? Don't even dream about it. But, if you want just a "nice", central hotel, about $ 150/room/ night, you can try Ascot Opera hotel-rue Monsigny no.2. It's very well located, so you can visit the "must see" places, only by walking. Enjoy your trip !
