Question:

Hotel to Stay in when in Paris?

I'll be in Paris in a few days and need advice on a good, cheaper hotel to stay in. I'd like to keep it under $200 if possible. We'll be taking cabs everywhere, so the closer in to town - the better.

  1. I'll suggest you hotel Ascot Opera -rue Monsigny no.2. It's a small one, in a very safe area and, the most important, very well located, just in the center of Paris.

  2. Hotel de la Porte Doree.

Very inexpensive, very clean and in a great location. Quiet neighborhood with the BEST bakery (la boungerie) across the street and a supermarket just a few doors down with everything you could possibly need. McDonalds across the street, an excellent cafe at the corner and some of the best stores up & down the blocks.

There's also a metro right outside!!!! Skip the cabs, they are way too expensive. Get a La Carte, it will save you some $ on the metro. :)

  3. just go to http://www.hotelsearchin.com/ and search for "Paris, France" and search by price, you should see all the hotels in paris that are in your budget range :)

  4. i think you'll find a room for less than 200€ in paris. easy. there is plenty of 'em but that summer now. maybe you should make reservation...

don't take cabs! it will cost you more than the hotel! and you know cad drivers in france... not that kind! ;) they don't like not french speeking people! ;)

take the subway! fast and cheap!

www.ratp.fr (for the subway map, or Metro map). look at the RER map if you arrive from the airport (i guess you will...)

  6. One reasonably priced hotel that I stayed in while I was in Paris was the Pax hotel. It's small, but it's very clean and the staff are very friendly. The nearest metro station is Cadet, its only about a minutes walk to the station and it's not to far from from all the things to would like to see and do in Paris. From cadet station it will take you no more than 10 minutes to the Eiffel tower.I hope you have a fab time in Paris.

  7. Bring some of the business cards with the Bush headshot and the fighter plane.  You'll need them in France.
