Hotels and Motels at yosemite, ca?

Question

Hi, this is my first time going to yosmite. is it a good idea to bring your laptop there because i will be either staying in a motel or a hotel, but im not sure. thanks

Oh, Yosemite is awesome but you'll be lucky to get a signal on your cell phone, let alone a laptop! I say leave it. It's really rustic out there and you should enjoy it.

Why would you even be on the laptop while visiting Yosemite. So much to see! Walking, hiking, rafting and sightseeing all day, then a good dinner should leave little time for the laptop.

The only use for  the computer is to download the camera to take more pictures.

I don't know if you're staying in the park (Wawona Hotel or Ahwahnee) they do have a place in the Ahwahnee for laptops (it's in a huge lobby with many fireplaces; it is amazing+ I don't think I'm not sure if you have to have a room to access the Internet at the Ahwahnee)   I'm not sure about the Wawonna Hotel.  A little bit from there is a place called the Redwoods where they have a small but free wifi signal (maybe if you have an iPhone.  Other wise, I don't have a laptop so I don't know how many bars you need.  I think there might be enough, but I'm not totally sure.  The Redwoods is the place where you rent cabins.  Hope this helped.  I vacationed up there and my family and I had a blast.  It was beautiful.  I visited the hotels too, which were great.

imaguy..  just about said it all.  His information is correct.  I live very close to Yosemite and I can't get cell phone service.  We go to Yosemite all the time...  You will love it!  I doubt if you will want your lap top except to maybe download your hundreds of pictures you will want to take.  It is Breathtaking!
