Hotels in Barcelona - Spain?

Question

Which hotel (4*) should i stay in if i visit Barcelona in October?

it should be close to the city centre and other must-see places...

You can do a search of hotels that may have promotions on most of the popular 4 or 5 star hotels. We just returned after staying at the Grand Marina along the waterfront but next time we plan to stay at one of the hotels up by the Passeig de Gracia.

Las Ramblas hotels are near the action but noisy at night till 2-3 AM in the morning.

North of the Passeig de Gracia are ok too since Barcelona is a great city to get around on foot or by public transportation.

there are many hotels in Barcelona but if you want my advice, renting an apartment is a great way to experience the city. You can get some luxury properties in gerat areas including Born and the Barri Gottic. Try out http://www.holiday-velvet.com/barcelona for some ideas. Otherwise the 1877 hotel is one of the best in the city.
