  1. I am not sure when you are planning to go there. But May and September is busy time in florence. Hotels Rates also relatively high. If you plan for may or Sept, please do advance booking for better rates and Hotels availability. last minute availability of room is not sure and Rate are bit high

Hotel Cardinal Of Florence, Donatello, Grand Majestic, Carolus Hotel, Gioia Hotel, Alex Hotel are some of good hotels which I know

I am not sure about your budget for hotel accommodation. check out with it

Just check this link, it gives large selection of hotels in Florence. you can choose one your own way

    http://roomsnet.com/florence_hotels/

    cheers !!!

  2. i know which to avoid...

spent 2 days in firenze..... stayed in a hotel very close to the station... what a dump... avoid these

have a good time beautiful city also with pisa a short train ride away..

the only thing that drove me nuts was everytime you sat down at a restaurant or a bar someone would leap out of nowhere playing a violin and asking for money....

  3. http://www.venere.com is quite reliable; personally, I can suggest you Hotel Genesio, since I've been there and I can tell you reviews you find on Venere site are true; Hotel is clean and 15 minutes (by walk) from main Florence railway station and city centre.

    Very good, for that price.

  4. You can find cheap accommodation here:

    http://www.tuscanweb.com

  5. Do a search on www.tripadviser.com - nearly every hotel in the world is listed with comments by people who have stayed there. Really good - I use it every time I travel.

  6. It really depends on your budget.

Normally hotels in Florence are quite expensive, but you can make your comparison going on www.venere.com, the biggest hotelsearch engine in Italy, where you can find also other travellers evaluations

  7. Do not stay at the Hotel Ungherese. The owners were rude to us, and if you take trip advisors advice and stay on the terrace, you would be glad to know that you have to shower over the toilet. Yes, there is no separate shower. They fail to tell you this when you go to the hotel's website. I was extremely disappointed, especially with all of the good reviews I read about it.
