Hotels in Mexico?

I had a great stay at Grand Velas All Suites & Spa Resort - Nuevo Vallarta Mexico. They had awsome service, clean rooms, and a beautiful view at the beach. The spa was even better than what it looks like on their site www.vallarta.grandvelas.com/. Check it out!!!

IF I spent  a week at this hotel at $797 per night and then spent a week in a hotel at $97 per night.  Would I say that Grand Velas is definately 700 dollars better?  I've travelled over quite a few states in Mexico and when I can find a room for 12 to 15 dollars--those are my favorite hotels.
