Hotels in Rome?

Do you know of any hotels in Rome near the vatican?

I lived in Italy for several months and on my trip to Rome stayed at Hotel Tiziano.

Not neccesarily near the Vatican, but in the center of Rome and still found it easy to get to the Vatican amongst other places in Rome. It was an enjoyable place to stay!

The "closest in" is  Palazzo Cardinal Cesi, almost right at the entrance to Piazza San Pietro.

Hi Chelsea, there are about 35 recommended hotels in the area around Vatican City. They all range in price from 35 Euros per night to 350 Euros per night, depending on when you go and your requirements in terms of accommodations. I would recommend sending an email to Paolo, (he writes from Rome in a blog online called Abbondanza!) requesting insider tips about hotels, places to eat, etc. (www.inabbondanza.com)
