We are going on a cruise and are wanting to stay in San Juan for a few days after the cruise. Any nice hotels on the beach for a reasonable price? Any all inclusive? Thanks!!

  1. Isla Verde is one of the best beaches in the San Juan area, there are a lot of hotels in the coast of Isla Verde, I once stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel, the beach is right next to the pool area, its pretty neat and nice. But there's cheaper hotels in that area too, you'll have to hunt for them, because there's a lot. Condado area is the other place you can stay, and is a lot closer to Old San Juan, this is the "IT AREA", there's a lot of fancy stores and hotels too, and cheap ones also. Normally the fancier and bigger hotels in Condado have the beach hidden in the back, but the beaches in PR are not owned by any of the hotels, you can simply cross over and stay at any beach you want, don't let anybody stop you, so you could stay at a hotel in the Codado area. PR is getting expensive by the minute, so don't get disappointed.

PS: there's way better beaches in PR is just that the San Juan area is so crowded that its beaches have been so frequently used that they are not as beautiful as the beaches in the South, South-West, Culebra Island, Luquillo beach, and many many more.

  2. I really....Really like hotel El Convento cuz its location. I t is located in Old San Juan where you can do a lot and you won't need to rent a car since everything is there!!!

    Good Luck!

  3. the cruises stop in old san juan bay. Pier 1 i think. near the cruises. across the street is a Wyndham hotel. about 10 to 15 minutes in car is isla verde. This are a beautiful touristic zone.  and this zone have The Ritz Carlton, and Hotel San Juan.

  4. Agree with first answer - check out the hotels in Isla Verde / Condado - some over look the beach / ocean others will be one or 2 blocks back (cheaper).

Plenty to see and do for a couple of days - highlights should include:

Old San Juan - wander around the old walled city - check out the forts, cathedral, plazas, restaurants etc..

El Yunque rainforest - hike one of the trails then spend the afternoon at Luquillo beach (check out the roadside kiosks for some typical PR food).

You could also do a Bio Bay tour from fajardo
