whats the best website to look for cheap hotels in Amsterdam

Personally I am not an expert (I live close to Amsterdam so never have to use a hotel), but a site which is recommended a lot by people who do use hotels & hostels in Amsterdam is http://www.hostelworld.com/

There is a good selection and they are not just hostels as the name might suggest, but hotels as well

One note though - I know you are looking for cheap hotels but it is fast coming up to the peak period for tourists coming to Amsterdam, so I would advise you to book in advance to ensure you are not caught out upon arrival
