Hotpoint fan oven motor removal. I am having difficulty removing the fan blade inside the oven.

Question

I am having difficulty removing the fan blade inside the oven. The ***** which holds the fan blade onto the motor shaft is difficult to release, i.e. it is locked on tight. My question is should I be trying to LOOSEN this ***** in an anti-clockwise direction or a clockwise direction, i.e. does it have a right or left hand thread.
