  1. If the pump is direct drive off the motor shaft - as most are - and the motor an induction one rather than one with brushes the simple answer is you can't. The motor speed is fixed by the mains frequency.

    Simple answer is to look at the motor specification plate and buy a motor of the same frame size but with a lower rotational speed - eBay?

    OR if all you want to do is reduce the water flow either put a tap in the piping - easy - to throttle it back or put a diversion valve in the line to send some water straight back to the resevoir.
