House Construction Verbiage Please?

I'm building and I want different options on my exterior. But, I don't know what the thingy I'm thinking of is called. It's found on Victorian type houses perhaps. I want an extra trim piece that extrudes out from the peak of the roof. It is sometimes really elaborate .. .but I just want like a couple lines. Any idea what the word is? If not please don't answer.

Do you mean the "gable"?
