Pelosi calls Bush 'a total failurePresident Bush has been a "total failure" in everything from the economy to the war to energy policy, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday. In an interview on CNN, the California Democrat was asked to respond to video of the president criticizing the Democratic-led Congress for heading into the final 26 days of the legislative session without having passed a single government spending bill.

  1. I think she's right -- Bush has been a totaly disaster for America.

I also think she should have led the Congress in impeaching the idiot-in-chief back in 2006 after the Dems took congress.

  2. Well I'm a democrat, not a big fan of Bush, and Pelosi is an idiot in my opinion. That said, not absolutely everything Bush did was a failure. She should have said that the government under Bush was a failure...or his ideas or policy were a failure.

  3. Whether for good or bad, Bush has done things during his time in office.  Pelosi made a lot of big promises when she became Speaker and has not delivered on any of them.  As the saying goes, "It is better to have tried and failed, than to never have tried at all".

  4. That's like the kettle calling the pot black. To me, Speaker pelosi is not as much use as a cup of warm spit.

  5. Let's see... Bush has a 29 percent approval rating, UP one point from last month.

Meanwhile, the Democrat Congress, led by Pelosi and Reid, have just dropped to an ALL-TIME HISTORIC LOW of 18 percent approval, with all indications that it will go even lower over the next 4 months.

So I guess that makes her leadership an ABYSMAL FAILURE.

My suggestion is, they ALL get booted out of office come November.  We're limited what we can do with the Senate, but EVERY SINGLE CONGRESSIONAL SEAT (including Pelosi's) is up for re-election in November.

It's not surprising that she's eager to blame Bush for everything.  But CONGRESS makes laws and sets policy.  The president can ask for everything he wants.  Congress is the only ones who can deliver.  CONGRESS has brought us into this economic crisis.  THEY are SOLELY responsible.

The President can only start wars.  That's it.  That's all teh Consitution allows!  Everything else must be done with the approval or resistance of Congress.  If a 2/3rds majority of Congress wanted to approve 1000 new nuclear power plants and emergency oil drilling tomorrow, there is NOTHING Bush could do to stop it, and it would happen.  But instead, their policy has been to do absolutely nothing, encourage spending like crazy, and hope people will go back to the horse and buggy days and "be green".

We aren't having financial problems because of Bush's tax cuts or stimulus checks (in fact, both are credited with temporary boosts to the economy).

We're up the creek because of CONGRESS stopping any and all oil exploration and development, stopping all new nuclear power plant construction, and chasing after fantasies like Ethanol (which caused food prices to skyrocket, just as predicted), solar power (which is a 30+ year old technology that is STILL horribly expensive and not worth it), and wind power (which even Ted Kennedy faught when it was in his backyard), and again it's not practical.

So the Democrats are giving us EXACTLY what they promised that would -- a totally ruined economy that is directly attributed to their "good intentions" (once again), and a hope that we have learned our lessons and will follow the hippie peacenick example.

I recently read in the Philly Enquirer, the new Democrat mantra is, "This is Bush's fault because he should have drastically raised taxes on fuel years ago."  In other words, we should have been paying these high prices and then some back in 2002!  Their theory is, this way no one would have bought big cars and we'd all be driving government approved Trabants (which remains their socialist fantasy).

Well, clearly, the American public is NOT oblivious to the total stupidity of this Congress, as evidenced by their ratings.

And God help us but really it's going to be great when Obama is president, because things will get 100 times worse and the "blame Bush" routine will wear thin really fast.  They have so many new TAXES planned and so much more regulation against our liberties that, if you think it sucks NOW, you have NO IDEA!!!!

I wonder how people will response when Nancy Pelosi proudly boasts, "Let them eat cake."

("Cake" being the black soot that builds up inside ovens.)

  6. Now there is the pot calling the kettle black. What has she ever managed to do besides whine and complain? Congress' approval rating is lower than Bush's.

  7. To Miss Devi how did the Dems knock it down 8 years ago when george had full control of both the House and the Senate back then? But Nancy is a failure as well because she failed to take action and initiate impeachment proceedings against both d**k and George bush right after the Dems took control of the House and Senate! I guess all three of them are total failures!

  8. Pelosi is a fool.  She wouldn't know success if it bit her in the backside.

  9. I think our whole government is a total failure. Democrats and republicans alike. Our country is not going to survive with this current form of government

  10. I think that before Ms. Pelosi starts cracking off at the mouth, she should look at the approval rating for congress which is at 18% as compared to 28% for Bush. This is the first time in 20 years that the US congress has not passed one spending bill, and her and her "majority" blocking of offshore drilling leads me to think that it is the Dems, and not Bush that want the prices of oil to stay at record highs.....bottom line......Bush called congress on their failures, and Pelosi personally attacked him....which shows me what kind of person she is......NO CLASS!!!!

  11. I think a bit dog hollars first.

  12. pelosi is a total idiot, her entire life revolves around trashing bush, what a worthless existence. you know what's really scary, she's third in line for the presidency, if bush and cheney should die or be unable to serve, the speaker of the house is next to be president, i pray for bush and cheney every night.
