Question:

House Wiring Question?

None of the outlets on the 2nd floor are working.

As well as the kitchen overhead light.

My landlord is under the impression the electrician can just join new wiring with the old and pull the old out leaving the new wiring behind. Does it reeally work that way?

  1. Technically, yes, but the electrician may need to cut a hole or two in the walls/first floor ceiling to do it. Also, depending on the condition that everything is in he may advise you that it's better to replace other things. He may also be able to fix what sounds like more of a circuit/fuse issue without needing to replace wiring.

  2. if  this work is done by license electrician this will be nothing you can complain

  3. The best thing to do is have the electrician diagnose the problem first. It sounds like you may have either lost voltage to one leg or maybe the circuit breaker is bad or tripped

  4. yes.
