House air cond. trys to turn on there is a buzz after a few trys it will turn on.?

The fan isn't going as fast as it was. Electric guy lives next to me he said electric looks good. He said he can smell something burning. and are top of are ac where the fan is very hot where you would almost get burn. Got any ideas

sounds like you need a new start capacitor. don't try this yourself, unless you like taking the risk of being electrocuted with VERY high voltage. capacitors store electric for start-up amperage draw, and need to be discharged BEFORE handling.

If you are talking about the fan motor( Inside ) or the condensor fan motor( outside), it most likely means the fan motor is going bad and will need replaced. You can look for oil ports to put oil in but it is probably too late.Worth a try though. If it's the inside blower motor , check it for a heavy dust buildup and clean it.
