House burglary time in jail?

my boyfriend stole from his sisters house while she was away, she didnt know it was him and reported it he felt guilty and turned himself in.....how long do you think h**l be in jail i know its a felony and they might give him probation or whatever but if the judge gives him time can you estimate how long.....2months,6months????

before anyone tells me why im with a guy who is willing to steal from his own family...let me share with you that he has a drug problem he tried a christian program that helps druggies and he stold for drugs...i know it sounds bad but plz dont judge him im going through alot right now..and no matter what anyone says i got his back

It all depends on the prosecutor in the county. If it is his first offense then he could get a minimal sentence such as probation or what not. If he has had numerous offenses then the judge or prosecutor may not be so lenient.

Need some more background information. Is this his first arrest? His first felony? What was the charge? Burglary, Larceny? All of those details make a big difference. He may not get any jail time at all. Have they given him a bond?
