oops, i asked this question in the wrong section yahoo put it in maintentence and repairs but in car and transport not home and garden.. can anyone answer my Q in home and garden??

  1. You may need to get a new door and door frame.  Yes, part of your problem is the locks 'break down' but most locks are good for 20 years or more if the doors/frames they are in are made well.  Call a locksmith and have the locksmith look at the door, the frame, and the locks, and tell you the different things you can do to 'fix' this problem.  I think the problem is that the door is cut slightly too small for the frame, and when that happens, the 'lock' doesn't fit correctly, and over time the lock 'breaks' ... but I live in Seattle, Washington, and you live in the UK, so I can't 'look' at your lock and door/frame.  CALL A LOCKSMITH.
