House on force closer, how to keep the house.?

my ex-boyfriend and I broke up last year. We have the house which is my name on the loan, and his name on the deed. I moved out and he stays in the house since then. We agreed that he will keep up the bill as long as he stay there. Unfortantely, he has not pay any thing since I moved out. Now the house is on force closer. I want to keep the house, what can I do for keep the house. I called the bank. They said call them back in 48 hours which is some times in 7/31/08. How can I take my ex-boyfriend's name off the deed. Please, help me.  How can I force my ex-boyfriend out of the house.

  1. You will have to pay what is owed because this is in your name too it could ruin your credit as well as his.   You should not have trusted he would do as he said when it comes to your credit.  Call them like they said to do and explain yourself thoroughly and hopefully you can work something out.


  2. Why would you alone be on the loan, while he alone is on the deed.  If you were both on the deed I could understand that but a bank will not put up a mortgage in your name unless you were also on the deed.  Are you sure you are not on the deed?

    If you are truly not on the deed but on the loan you are stuck.  I mean the bank will foreclose on the property pretty soon and the boyfriend will be out of there, but your credit will get hurt while his will not (since he is not on the mortgage).  

    Honestly your best choice in this case may be to pay your boyfriend for a quit claim deed and to leave.  It may not be cheap but its gets him gone and keeps your credit in good standing (and you get the house).  If he is not on the mortgage he loses nothing by it going to foreclosure so you have very little leverage to use against him (he'll just stay there rent free until it gets foreclosed on).
