does *67 really hide your number if the people your prank calling has caller ID?

  1. *67 prevents your phone number from being transmitted with the originating call data - thus your phone number does not show up on the other parties Caller ID.

    That said, if someone is placing harassing or otherwise illegal phone calls and the recipient issues formal complaints to phone company and police, then it may be possible for them to trace the calls back to the originator of the calls.

  3. yes *67 blocks your CID from showing, and prevents *69 BUT *57 will still allow the person you call to trace your line

  4. *67 has always worked for me and *69 lets you get the phone number of the last person who called your house.  Another way to block your number is by using a calling card. You can also earn free long distance minutes by going to www.PhoneHog.com - which is basically like a calling card. Hope this helps!
