I am terrified of spiders and fell asleep before and woke up with a HUGE spider staring straight at me, I mean it wasnt small it was the biggest house spider i've seen! Since then about 2 hours ago me and my Mum have found another two and i'm now petrified of going to sleep! I just wondered can they bite and is there any reason for them showing up all of a sudden?

  1. Yes they can bite. And all spiders are poisonous to some degree. However, only a few of them are poisonous enough to kill people. Most spider bites are no worse than wasp stings. However, I agree with you that spiders are evil creatures, and the good that they do, such as kill flies, is only incidental to their agenda.

  2. From what I have heard house spiders cannon bite you as their teeth are too small.  Don't take my word for it that is just what I have heard!

Spiders start coming into houses this time of year as they are beginning to hibernate... if you are in the UK then you will notice it is already getting darker earlier so the onset of autum has started!

You will probably see a few more spiders from now until Christmas and, I am sorry to say so will I!!! eeeek!

  3. no they cant bite /get the hoover out and get to work

  4. Bad news is that all spiders bite, and one of the most deadly is the "Daddy long legs spider".  Lucky for us that even though it's poison would kill us, it's mouth is too small to bite us.  The only severely poisonous spiders to humans in the US are the Black Widow and Brown Recluse.  Most spiders are good to have around as the eat other bugs!

  5. No spiders "bite" in the truest sense, they don't have the parts needed to bite, ie teeth, jaws etc.

They liquefy their food to eat it. They "bite" by injecting a venom. Almost all spiders can do this, since very few spiders eat plants or fruits.

However, no native British spiders are particularly dangerous, and even the most poisonous spiders of the world rarely bite a human.

  6. Anything with a mouth bites...that's what this lady told me..

  7. If you live in the UK then highly unlikely.  Don't panic you won't get bitten, they always thrive around this time of year and did you know there are around 200 spiders in the average house hiding!  Now if you live somewhere like australia then I'd be worried!  I used to help out an old lady who used to put a conker in each corner of every room and it kept them away.  They don't like the oil inside the conker apparently and its harmless to them - so go out when the conkers are in season and try it. It works!

  8. reading this just put terror in my heart!!!...

i so wish i didnt read there was another two!!...tonight i was just sitting on the sofa and this big hairy monster spider ran across the floor, i screamed and ran into another room... i was so so scared i had to call my husband back from WORK so he could go catch it, now am scared theres more... i am NOT going to sleep tonight... there should be some like special spider hunting number like 999 but for spiders... omg i hate them... anyways to finally answer your question i think some of them can, it depends on the type it is.... hoping the one here wasnt one of them!!!

  9. No they will not bite if you live in the uk,

The chances of the spider being dangerious is 1 in a 1000000 in the uk so do not panic.

When the weather gets hot spiders come into the houses.

Best advice   Clean and tidy the house spiders love to hide.

  10. dont worry, they cant bite, jaws dont open enough to bite you. it would be like you trying to bite a beach ball, its too big!

  11. They can bite, but they're not likely to without a good reason.  Even then, they can't do any significant damage.

  12. depends on what type of spider it is...

  13. wekl you just need to bite it first. even if it bites you before you see him you should just bite him back

  14. ya so can your dog... if you have one.

  15. You asked this in the UK version... so I'm guessing you're in the UK.

No UK spider will cause you any harm. You may not like them, but they are not dangerous. Promise.

  16. Depends on what kind mostly not
