i never remember not having one, and they are not a waste of energy, you save more water using a dishwasher then doing them by hand! Consumer Reports will tell you that!

Yes, have a dishwasher and have had one since I owned my own home at age of 20.

What people dont realise is they actually use very little water and therefore little electricity (about the same as boiling a kettle) and so when only put on when fully loaded it uses about a third of the energy required to heat up the water to wash by hand. Everything comes out more hygenic and there is less washing of dishclothes/tea towels and less risks of cross contamination associated with using teatowels.

EVERY HOUSE SHOULD HAVE ONE!!!

yes, only went without one for about 6 years of my life----between the ages of 0-5, and in this house for a year before our kitchen was remodeled....I hate the thought of dishes sitting in a sink of dirty water...I LOVE my dishwasher!

YES - we can be doing much more important things instead of washing dishes. Just do the math and see how many weeks you spend during an average lifetime just doing dishes. Spend the time working for charity or heping your friends or whatever.

Save the planet - use a dish washer and stop kidding yourself that it's saving energy.
