Question:

Housekeeper Question?

My house is messy (3 5 year old boys...)and I want my parents to get a housekeeper. We don't have a ton of extra money but hopefully we can get one anyway.

My question is... how much do you think it would cost for a housekeeper to clean our house [3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, basic rooms & finished basement] in Ontario (southern)? Should we go with a company or an individual person?

Thanks!

  1. Personally, I use a company.  It takes a lot less time (b/c a team of 4 people comes, rather than 1 person), and they are usually insured so if anything breaks, it will be covered.  The only way to get an accurate cost is to have them come and do an estimate.  It will probably be around $100

  2. Individual for sure, They don't charge as much and will do a better job. I use to clean houses and when I would go to someones house that had a professional and would tell us how much they would charge it was outrageous.

These days with the size of you house, a cleaner would charge anywhere from 75.00 to 150.00, you could have them come once a week or every two weeks .

The every two weeks would do okay and you could keep up with it till they come back. you could hang a sign in your local grocery store and state cleaners needed and give your number. You should get a few calls. With the gas and the cost of living going up so much people are looking to get extra money. Hope you find someone!

  3. a company will cost way to much money , look in the paper and you can find someone to come out 1 day per week it will probably cost around 60 dollars a week just for 1 day of work , company's charge around 200.00 way to much

  4. They will either charge you per room or per hour. If you can't afford it, maybe you could just keep your house clean.
