Housing help please?

I'm uk resident my girlfriend is zimbabwe resident but comes over here to work.

We would like to settle down here in the uk, so is it possible for us to get council house over here?

UK resident for how long?  This is the question the council will ask.

So you want to jump the queue?  Don't you think that's a little unfair on those people who have been waiting years for a council house.

there are certain criteria you have to fit into to be eligible, are you homeless? are you about to be evicted? are you overcrowded? without these you won't get a place and even with these you will wait YEARS.

even homeless british citizens have to wait years, so you have NO chance.

it would be much easier and quicker for you to private rent ! it may sound expensive but you could be waiitng years for a council property x

You could apply but the list is long, and you would not be a priority.

You should try to rent privately.
