  1. very little chance im afraid.

my patner and i qualify for a council house but we are not high priority, we both work, we have a 2 1/2 year old daughter and have been rejected renting privately due to a ccj.

we have to live at home with my mother.

the fact is there is a huge shortage of housing and it doesnt matter whether you have 5 kids and live in a box the council dont care, its more of a competition for a house.

housing benefit can be awarded if you are on a low income but very few landlords except it.

get a full time job and rent privately with a friend its the only way, otherwise you'll be waiting years.

  2. If you want better housing why not get a better job?   A full time one?    Why choose a minimum wage one if it is not enough income for you?

  3. Firstly, since Maggie Thatcher decided that we should be a nation of home owners rather than renters, and sold off huge numbers of council properties at give away prices to their renters, there are probably far far fewer Council properties available than you might imagine. Unless you are in truly dire need - or are an imigrant on the dole of course - you will be assessed, awarded a certain number of points, and then put on the waiting list. depending upon where you live, that waiting list could be anything from a couple of years long to 20 years!

You would probably be eligible for a discount against your council tax at your earning level.  Talk to your local job centre or Citizens Advice bureau. there MAY (i do not know as i have never claimed any kind of benefits) be some Tax Credits or something that you qualify for.

The most obvious answer to your finances has to be, work full time like the rest of us and then look for a better job.

  4. none unless your polish or pregnant
