Hi, the heating in our house doesnt work and it hasnt been working for the whole 3 months that we've been living here. anyway we call the real estate like almost every day and still its not being fixed. We have a 9 month old son who is suffering with colds because the house is so cold (concrete walls).... Should we still pay rent? Can we apply to vcat to make the owners fix it??? Since winter is coming we are really going to need the heating and im a bit unsure about our rights...

  1. You should be able to go to the Rental Board Authority?, I live in QLD but still the conditions should still apply. Try looking the Board up on Google.

  2. go to Rental Board Authority(or whatever it is in Vic) get a notice to remedy breach form & serve it on the real estate then they must fix it

    DO NOT stop paying rent
