Houston Aeros comes up with a brilliant win in Game 1 of the Calder Cup against Binghamton Senators - AHL
Houston Aeros came up with a brilliant show in the first game of the Calder Cup Final series to get into the lead. This Friday, May 27th, the team managed to come up with a 3-1 win against Binghamton Senators to get a lead in the American Hockey
League (AHL) Final.
The team was able to dominate the final period with two goals scored by Jed Ortmeyer in the final period. The team added another goal on the scoreboard which resulted in the game ending at 3-1, in favour of Aeros.
The game was on level terms and the deadlock was broken through a brilliant Bobby Butler strike.
The rookie players, who is another upcoming star, is expected to land with a high spot in the National Hockey League draft in the coming few seasons if not this one. He bagged his 11th goal during the course of the play-offs.
There was no drop in form from Aeros as the final period began with them trailing. They looked more motivated and eager to win.
As soon as the game restarted, Aeros scored a goal within the first minute to level the scores. Warren Peters was the scorer, carrying the puck all the way and successfully finding the back of the net.
With the scores level on 1-1, a goal for either of the teams would surely have won the game for them as the game was becoming closer and intense with each passing minute.
Jed Ortmeyer managed to shine on the right occasion and used his experience to the very best.
He has played in 310 National Hockey League games that have moulded him as one of the good players in the NHL and among the best in the AHL.
Furthermore, he went on to create several chances for his team members but they were unable to score. He scored two goals for Aeros that guided them to a comfortable 3-1 win.
The win also puts them 1-0 up in the Calder Cup Finals series with the next game in Manchester, this Saturday.
