Houston Astros’ Jason Castro back with a leadoff homer
The Houston Astros’ Jason Castro announced his return to the game with his homer on Sunday, April 01, against the Detroit Tigers. The player who had missed the last season dominated the batting plate, to enunciate a strong comeback.
It was in March last year that an unanticipated and perilous move resulted in an injury that took him away from the entire season. While running, he had awkwardly stepped on first base, tearing up the right knee.
But that is a closed chapter now as the player is looking forward to a wonderfully strong season this year. On Sunday, prior to the commencement of the game, he seemed in humorous mood. He also talked what he plans for the future.
"I tried to stay away from the old locker I was at from the last time," Castro joked before the game. "But no, it's in the past, and I'm just looking forward to getting in the last game of the spring, getting it over with and heading out tomorrow."
The player also acknowledged that the past year has been that of learning lessons. Nonetheless, coming back is important for Castro.
"It actually seems like a lot longer than it really has been," he said. "I went through a lot this past year, and I'm just really happy to be back where I'm at right now and the spot I'm in this close to the season.”
Despite his good performance in almost 13 months, since he was injured, the Astros could not quite have the upper hand when it came to the result. The Detroit Tigers came down hard on the Astros, winning the game by 4-2.
Juan Castro’s homer, nonetheless, came against one of the finest pitchers of the Tigers, Doug Fister, a starter who remain the Tigers’ best possession.
With the return in the professional circuit, the Astros’ Castro has a lot to overcome. The fact that he was unable to play for over a year has to compensate by his regular appearance in the season, to not only prove his instrumentality but also strengthen
the Houston Astros’ offence.
