Houston Astros beat Los Angeles Angels 6-3 at Angel Stadium- MLB News

Houston Astros beat the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 6-3 at the Angel Stadium on Friday, May 31, 2013. The win helps the Houston ballclub to improve its season record to 18-37.
The star studded Angels got the scoring underway in the bottom of the second innings with two runs. The Astros got the lead in the third with here runs added in the top of the fourth. Jason Castro homered to centre field to get
things underway. Chris Carter got J.D. Martinez home with a sacrifice fly. Another sacrifice fly, this time by Matt Dominguez got Carlos Pena home.
The bats were silenced from both sides until the top of the seventh innings when Astros scored three more and took the definitive lead in the match.
Scoring started with Brandon Barnes getting an RBI single. A fielding error allowed Jason Castro to reach first base as Brandon Barnes was able to reach the home plate to score. Carlos Pena was than able to bat in a run with a
single to left field. The Astros at this point were with a 6-2 lead in the ballgame.
Erick Aybar dented the lead in the bottom of the eighth innings with a solo home-run. However, the Angels failed to cut the deficit any further.
Jose Altuve, the second baseman for the Astros said that everyone is enjoying their time and having fun along with the hard work they are performing. He was confident that the ballclub will win more games in similar fashion.
“We come to the clubhouse early in the day and everybody’s smiling,” Altuve said. “We work hard but we have fun. We have the right attitude right now. We’re going to keep playing hard and keep winning the games.”
Designated hitter Carlos Pena got three hits in the game which is his season high. He now feels that there is no need to try for long balls all the time after the match.
“It’s very important to stay within myself and put away those thoughts of wanting to put up this kind of numbers or hit this many homers or drive in this many runs,” Pena said.
Houston Astros are on a good form currently and fans will certainly be hoping that they can continue the good work.
