Houston Astros hammer Chicago Cubs 3-0 – MLB Update

Houston Astros hammered the Chicago Cubs 3-0 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Tuesday, October 2 at Wrigley Field in Chicago.
“I can't say enough about our bullpen today, Either way, we're going to finish strong, We're going to finish .500 for the month, and we're really excited about the future, what's going on for next season," interim manager Tony DeFrancesco said.
DeFrancesco added, "If everybody signs the lineup card, it will be a special memory, I'll get it framed, and move onto a new chapter in my life. This has been a very special chapter."
Starting pitcher Bud Norris pitched beautifully and earned a great victory for the Astros. He tossed six solid innings and remained calm on the mound. He did not give any run on four hits while he managed to strike-out four Cubs' batters with great offensive play.
“The team won three in a row. That's the way we're looking at it, We're trying end this thing strong and play it all the way through," Norris said.
Norris certainly put pressure on Cubs’ upfront batting line-up and kept them under pressure during the entire game which eventually proved one of the winning factors for the Astros. He played offensively and maintained his ERA at 4.65.
Relief pitcher Xavier Cedeno also did well on the mound and helped his team edge past the Cubs’ in great manner. He tossed one inning and did not receive any run or hit. He struck-out two and remained consistent on his 3.77 ERA.
Closer Wesley Wright pitched 0.2 innings and kept the Cubs’ batters under pressure with ease. He struck-out two hitters which helped the Astros defeat the Cubs with ease.
On the other hand, Cubs’ pitchers were hammered by the Astros' offensive batting line-up. They were hit all over the field which proved disastrous for the Cubs.
Chris Volstad played poorly as he allowed two important runs and five hits on his seven innings spell. He struck-out six but a homer and his rising ERA of 6.31 certainly spoiled the game for the Cubs.
