Houston Astros lose to Colorado Rockies 5-11 – MLB Recap
The Houston Astros lost to Colorado Rockies 5-11 in the fourth game of their four-match regular series encounter on Thursday, May 31 at Coors Field in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
The Astros, who had already lost the series from the Rockies, yet again fell short and could not display any resistance during the entire nine innings.
They were outplayed by the Rockies aggressive pitching offence who never gave them any chance to take control of the game.
Though Jeremy Guthrie allowed five runs, but he still performed far better than the Astros pitchers. He remained his calm for almost seven innings and stood tall against the Astros aggressive batting lineup.
"CarGo's in another world, Cuddy puts in a good at-bat every time and drives somebody in, One through eight is a tough at-bat right now. I gave up a lot of hits, maybe a career high, but our bats have been really hot, gave us a nice cushion and continued
to tack on, which is so big, We outscored them tonight." Rockies starter Jeremy Guthrie said of his team’s great effort which outclassed the Astros with strength.
Overall, the game was played on high pace where both teams scored early runs but the Rockies proved more diligent in the end as they kept the Astros under pressure and eventually took the game away in style.
"Tough start. They've scored 15 runs in the first inning these four games, That'll put you behind the 8-ball pretty early. That was troublesome." Houston manager Brad Mills said for his team’s poor effort which did not show any resilience against the Rockies.

Currently the Houston Astros are one place ahead from the Chicago Cubs in the National League Central with 22-29 win loss record along with .431 winning percentage.
Though they have still to play a long season but if they cannot bring their win percentage at .600, the chances of their post season qualification will further put them in trouble.
On the other hand, the Rockies are relatively at good position in the National League West Division with 21-29 win loss along with .420 winning percentage.
