Houston Astros lose to Texas Rangers 1-6 – MLB Recap
The Houston Astros lost to Texas Rangers 1-6 in the third game of their three-match regular series encounter on Sunday, May 20 at Minute Maid Park, Houston in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Starter Colby Lewis played well and literally won a game for the Rangers. He from start to end stayed confident on the mound and pitched eight innings. His spell proved exceptional for the Rangers as he allowed just one run and four hits winning this game
as well series for his team.
"I always like playing on the National League side and getting some hits in and hacks in, or whatever you want to call it, It was a lot of fun. It keeps me more involved. I love the National League side of things." Lewis said quite confidently and told reporters
about the recent victory.
Later team manager Ron Washington of Lewis and his great play, “It was awesome, The last time he did that we went on an 11-game winning streak, so I hope that's a sign. He was quite sharp today, He had a good breaking ball working, and he was able to spot
his fastball and he had a real good changeup." The game started off with a high pace as the Rangers took early lead into first when Josh Hamilton hit a sacrifice fly into centre and Kinsler completed a score.
With a brilliant first run, the Rangers kept the pressure on the Astros and added four more runs into bottom first. The Rangers with a heavy hammering in fifth inning took control of the game and rallied behind the Astros 6-0. Though the Astros came back
with one run’s addition, but the Rangers were more diligent taking away the game in ninth in style.
With this win, the Rangers win percentage has also increased .619 however, due to these late wins, the real thrust came into their entire roster who feel exceedingly confident playing with so much power. The Rangers home 11-9 record now also has improved
and if they kept their winning combination intact, more positive results will also come.
