With Major League Soccer postseason approaching closer, Houston Dynamo have been hit with yet another injury. Star striker Cam Weaver has been sidelined for the rest of the season, and possibly the playoffs, due to the hip injury he picked in early May.
The player had been taking cortisone shots before every game and training session to relieve off the pain but aggravated the injury in the match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chicago-Fire-c38795 last weekend. The player took to the ground during the match and was promptly taken off.
Head coach told the press in a telephonic interview:
“I’ve said in a couple of our post-game press conferences that we’ve had some guys playing hurt, and he’s been one of them. He’s had it for a while. It’s gotten to the point now that it’s bugging him too much.”
The Dynamo veteran played a career high 1611 minutes this season. The forward scored 4 goals in 28 matches, starting 16 of them, his equalizer against New York Red Bulls surely being the most memorable of the events for him.
It was a well-earned and direly needed rest for the striker, according to Kinnear. “I give him credit, he’s played hurt a lot this year. He’s just frustrated. It’s not just games, but at training every day where the guys are not playing 100 percent. That
affects him and I feel bad for him.”
While injured striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brian-Ching-c8054 continued to nurse his injuries, the player carried the attacking responsibility on his shoulders for much of the season.
The Dynamo had a poor preseason and their regular term was even worse. Weaver helped the team move up from the bottom half of Eastern Conference to second place by the midseason.
Houston Dynamo currently stand at 4th position with 43 points, 3 points clear of New York Red Bulls, who follow them closely on the 5th spot.
