Houston Dynamo will visit Sporting Kansas City on Sunday, November 6, for the Eastern Conference final at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park. Both teams are in good run of form and have uplifted themselves from the bottom of the conference table to appear in the play-offs.
However, the Sporting’s 4-3-3 formation worries the Dynamo roster, which has failed against Peter Vermes’ men twice in the current season.
The first game in July ended in a stalemate; the Orange failed to defeat the Wizards at Robertson Stadium, Dynamo’s home ground.
The second game bore a poor result for Die Oranje head coach, Dominic Kinnear. The Wiz thrashed the visitors 3-0 at LIVESTRONG, with the main reason for the beating being the Sporting’s three-man attack.
The Dynamo back-four were simply not good enough to handle the likes of CJ Sapong and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Davy-Arnaud-c10698 in a more advanced position.
Left-back Corey Ashe admitted to the Sporting’s strong line-up and praised their good stretch down the road this year.
“They have the best 4-3-3 in the league,” Dynamo left back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Corey-Ashe-c9432 said. “Just like us, their players understand each other. They have a good understanding and work rate. They’re a very good team.”
There are speculations that the Orange will try to adapt to the Sporting’s line-up, owing to the two disappointing results this season, including the one at LIVESTRONG. However, midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adam-Moffat-c3548 mooted such rumours, stating that the Oranje line is
well-organized and need not be changed for the final. He further asserted that his team will play its natural game.
“I don’t think we need to adapt to it,” Moffat said. “There may be minor things, but I don’t think we need to change our complete formation or personnel. We’ve been playing well in the system we’ve been using.”
This is Houston’s fourth playoff stint in six-year MLS history and the team has played Conference final twice.
