Houston Rockets to install the biggest scoreboard at Toyota Center

The Houston Rockets are set to introduce one of the most exciting things in the world of basketball and believe it, it does not involve the exploits of Jeremy ‘Linsanity’ Lin.
Come start of next season, the Toyota Center will unveil a new score board which will be the largest indoor screen currently installed anywhere in the United States. The new screen will be unveiled on the season opening night in
the game against the Portland Trail Blazers, and the Rockets management claim that in-court experience will be one of a kind.
According to Rockets and Clutch City Sports & Entertainment CEO, Tad Brown, the addition of the new screen is the start of exciting times for the people coming to watch games at the Toyota Center and the experience will continue
to astonish for many years to come.
“Mr. Alexander has always challenged us to find innovative ways of improving the fan experience, and this new scoreboard is quite simply going to be the best-in-class among indoor arenas in the country. Our fans in all locations
will have the opportunity to experience Rockets games, and other events, like never before. Our new Wi-Fi data network will allow fans to stay connected and the upgraded concessions network will make ordering of food and beverage items faster and more efficient.
These improvements, along with many others, will provide Toyota Center patrons with an unmatched in-arena experience for many years to come.” - Brown
The new scoreboard will be manufactured by Panasonic and will be 25 by 58 feet. Some of the new features that come with the screen include full 1080p resolution and the image quality will be 600 percent better than the previous
scoreboard, which was installed on the inauguration of the arena back in 2003. Additional plans made by the Rockets management include the installing of four more ancillary boards at all the corners of the board to display in-depth statistics.
This does sound exciting for any basketball fan coming to watch matches at the Toyota Center. But let’s just hope that they are able to live up to their expectations and do not disappoint the same way as Dallas management did during
the All-Star weekend two seasons ago.
