Houston Texans QB Matt Schaub backs RBs Arian Foster-Ben Tate as run game stars duo – NFL News
Houston Texans star quarterback Matt Schaub has backed the formidable duo of running backs Arian Foster and Ben Tate who respectively said to have been enjoying the run game of the team.
Matt said he enjoys leading the offensive crop when both are there and playing, and almost the rest of Texans reckon them as the power-booster of the run game.
According to the veteran QB:
"When they're in there, they execute and play at a high level, whether it's Arian or Ben, whether it's the run game or the pass game. I know it's good for me because if nothing is open downfield, such as last week, I check it down to them and they're going
to make plays. They're guys that you get the ball in their hand (and) very rarely does the first guy bring them down, and that's a good luxury to have."
This is the strength probably the team is going to apply and rely on to counter Denver Broncos’ star performer quarterback Peyton Manning. The Texans had a majority of ball possession in the last game versus the Jacksonville Jaguars which is well reflective
in the points (7) scored by the opposition.
It will be a key to counter Broncos and possibly enhance their victory chances, and as boasted by Schaub it appears the trio is ready for the weekend’s challenge.
Foster is particularly the key rusher for the team with Ben closely backing him up effectively. Foster rushed for 110 yards in the Jaguars’ game which at the end proved to be one sided.
Ben himself is a class act. His Jaguars’ game record included 74 rushing yards along with 23 receiving yards, and also two scores. So he was all over the field playing up to the demanding pace of the run game. He played 15 games for the Texans last season
and ended up with 942 yards.
The Texans wish the duo is able to find rhythm in the Broncos’ game and they along with Matt Schaub and backup quarterback T.J. Yates can show that they are capable of dictating their terms to any opposition at any field.
