Houston Texans beat Atlanta Falcons on NFL Power ranking chart to claim N0. 1 spot – NFL News
The Houston Texans have beaten the Atlanta Falcons on National Football League (NFL) power rankings chart to claim the top spot courtesy of their win over the Chicago Bears on the past weekend.
Falcons who had earlier been undefeated lost their past weekend game while the Texans with the win over the Bears stepped up to become the most successful team on the AP Pro32 NFL rankings.
It is another milestone achieved by the Texans who have thrashed some of the most powerful opponents including Denver Broncos on the way to the top.
They are 8-1 in the American Football Conference (AFC) South, well ahead of the Indianapolis Colts (6-3). Their other two rivals the Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars are nowhere near to catch them on the points table.
The league’s standings chart represents all 32 franchises and the rating is determined while keeping in mind overall success of the team. The Texans retained the top slot for consecutive weeks earlier in the season but then their only loss of the season
dropped them down.
Atlanta Falcons who were undefeated until last week were the number one team on the chart while the Texans at the second positions, but the situation now is exactly opposite. The Texans are number one while Falcons are the second most successful team in
the league. The Texans beat the Bears 13-6 on the Sunday (Nov. 11) while the Falcons lost 27-31 to the New Orleans Saints.
Meanwhile, the Texans who are out on the field as Super Bowl contenders have maintained almost perfect credentials for the title game. They have surprised all their critics with successive wins, and all those wins are comprehensive, coming through an excellent
display of teamwork, not just as a matter of luck.
Their offensive line has given an outstanding performance throughout. From quarterback Matt Schaub, wide receiver Andre Johnson to running back Arian Foster, all players have been superb in the entire season. Also thanks to the most successful offensive
strategy of Gary Kubiak, the trio said to have been enjoying the run-focused and high-paced offence.
