Houston Texans can deal situation vs Green Bay Packers without me, says Brian Cushing – NFL News
The Houston Texans are proud of performance by their linebacker Brian Cushing, although the rest of the season is over for the player after he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in last game.
Now Cushing said he is focusing his health and recovery and would like to return to action hundred percent.
He said:
"Whether it was or it wasn't, I'm not playing for a while. That's not going to change my opinion on anything. I'm not a guy that's going to look back at the past and see what I could've done differently. I'm going to look into the future and see how I can
improve."
The Texans are up against another challenging side this weekend – the Green Bay Packers – and will be without the linebacker for the first time. It is to see how the team performs on the defensive line, although coach Gary Kubiak calls the player’s injury
a rather setback.
Another signee by the team has replaced Cushing but Cushing’s absence is expected to be felt for the rest of the season. He stood out on the defensive line with his daring challenges and the offence has been relying extensively on his contribution.
However, the player reminds the team of the last year’s situation when they dealt with a situation without key quarterbacks and other offence star performers who were out with respective injuries. He hopes the team can deal with a similar situation equally
well.
He said:
"We definitely dealt with a lot of adversity last year, especially from an injury standpoint. This is a mentally strong team that's built with a lot of depth. I'm not too concerned about that."
The Texans have surprised everyone by staying undefeated so far and are leading the American Football Conference (AFC) South division. They along the way have defeated the New York Jets and Denver Broncos, and if manage to inflict a wound on the Packers
this week, it will be another glorious achievement for them.
Irrespective of the injury scares, the team are hopeful of their chances this Sunday.
