Houston Texans’ coach Gary Kubiak backs Trindon Holliday for roster spot – NFL News
Houston Texans’ coach Gary Kubiak has backed kick returner Trindon Holliday for a spot on the team’s roster, saying he has proved to be a better player than he was for the past two seasons, and added it was a well earned place for him.
Gary pinpointed Trindon’s performance in the preseason as a remarkable achievement. The player has become a force to reckon with on the position and the coach agrees to some of independent analysts' views that he can become a special teams’ threat in the
league.
The coach said:
"Trindon's a lot better football player than he was the last two years. Trindon can go play on the offensive side of the ball. I think he's a much more complete player as far as us finding ways to use him as a player. But what he did throughout the course
of this preseason was exceptional and his spot on this team was well earned."
Holliday has been successful in returning a majority of kicks for touchdowns, which helped the team to inflict defeats on their opponents in the preseason, including the last game victory over the Minnesota Vikings.
The coach hopes the player’s performance helps their cause of reaching the playoffs this season.
Apparently, Holliday is upbeat about the preparations for season, which more or less are very simple and do not require much planning. He said he just aims to go out on the field and make a few plays, and does not devise a particular strategy or does any
pre-game due diligence.
Since being young, he extensively relies on power and pace. With a passage of more games into the season he will have some experience to benefit as well, and if he is able to retain the same level of pace along with experience, he is going to attain great
success in the league. Nevertheless, his achievements so far are very impressive.
