Houston Texans defence accuses Tennessee Titans OT David Stewart of ‘dirty’ tactics – NFL News
A majority of Houston Texans defence players have accused Tennessee Titans offensive tackle David Stewart of doing some nasty tricks such as pulling hair and amusingly trying to ride at back of some players which they said they have never seen from any player
before.
The Texans comprehensively defeated the Titans in the last game and now a number of their defence players have complained of Stewart going ‘dirty’ against them.
Defensive end Antonio Smith told a local newspaper that:
"I saw some things I've never seen before. I saw him try to pull (Reed's) hair out, tried to ride somebody's back, which I thought was kind of funny, actually."
Linebacker Connor Barwin has echoed similar concerns of the Titans OT’s rough plays. He said:
"He's like Incognito. Everybody will say it - (Stewart) is a dirty player. He threw a punch at me. He threw a punch at Brooks."
Further, they are joined by safety Danieal Manning in condemning Stewart over alleged roughing up. He said:
"One play, I saw (Joseph) making a tackle, and (Stewart) was around the pile, and he was trying to help (Titans running back) Chris Johnson up. (Joseph) was down. He was kneeing (Joseph), and I said, 'This guy's crazy.'"
The Titans or Stewart has so far not said anything about these allegations. Also, none of the officials gave any foul against the player, apparently being unaware when the ‘dirty’ work was going on the field.
It was apparently frustration the Titans might have attempted to throw at the Texans given they failed to make an impact on the field in the game while the Texans kept them at the bay throughout, leaving only a few opportunities for them to score.
The Texans gave another superb performance to record fourth straight win of the season to lead the American Football Conference (AFC) North division 4-0 on the way to defend the division’s title.
