Houston Texans face test to ability, records versus New England Patriots – NFL News
The Houston Texans’ perfect road record faces a real threat this week versus the New England Patriots and coach Gary Kubiak realises it is not just the Patriots as team but noise of about 80,000 fans they face to stay focused to their goal.
One thing he is happy to see and say is his team are capable of rising above the noise very well and their record depicts their perfection to handle the situations on road to successive six victories.
Kubiak said:
"It's really kind of your 53 against 80,000 when you show up. I think they take that as a challenge and they take it personal and they know if they protect the football our team is going to have a good chance to win."
The Texans are the only team who have not lost a single game on road this season so far, and given the Patriots are one of the toughest opponents to defeat their streak appears threatened.
Although the coach realises the reality and gravity of the situation, some of the Texans are more confident to maintain their perfect on road than others.
Wide receiver Andre Johnson said:
"We've been able to go out on the road this season and win games no matter the circumstances. When they ask you your record, they ask how many games you've won and how many games you've lost, not what was the score or anything like that."
Both teams are in a similar situation as both of them are through to the playoffs from their respective divisions and conferences. Another factor that will count in the game is that the Texans are also threatened to lose their top spot in the leagues AP Pro32 ratings chart.
They have been retaining the position for last few consecutive weeks and the Patriots had been rotating the second position with other teams. If the Patriots win the game they will straight head to the top and Texans slip down at No. 2 or 3 position.
So the game is a real challenge for the Texans in many ways. A win nevertheless will be a great help to their progression in the season. They might face the Patriots during any game in the playoffs, so it is a better opportunity to test their strength.
