Houston Texans favourites against Buffalo Bills – NFL Preview
The Houston Texans maintain a perfect record in the American Football Conference (AFC) South division and will be aiming to add another victory to their six wins when they host the Buffalo Bills this Sunday (Nov. 04).
While Bills are progressing in the season in their natural and traditional style, not showing any sense of worry, the Texans look favourites for a win over them.
As coach Gary Kubiak has propagated, the Texans are relying on their two strengths to knock down some of heavyweight opponents this season. First, it is their teamwork that has not given any room to their oppositions to settle the score with them. Second,
it is total reliance on the fast-paced offence that they are plotting as the best defensive strategy. Importantly, both have worked out as per their plans and aims, and yielded the desired results.
Quarterback Matt Schaub appears to have been enjoying the fast-paced offence, and has successfully led the team right from the front. The coach is aware of the key contribution from him and has often praised his credentials as a starter.
Only worry for the Texans can be the special teams position, but with overall better showing at other positions the team is not much prone to falling prey to oppositions.
Also, the coach has continuously backed the running backs to improve rushing record and has achieved desired goals to an extent. Yet he persists for further improvement by the rushers.
He said:
"You try to look at the big picture and say our yards per carry is still not good enough. We need some more big plays. We've got to find (Foster) some more space and some big plays. If we do that, all that takes a couple big plays and your average goes up."
With the game still wide open, an upset can expected from the Bills, given they have showed themselves as a better side of late. So far, their performance has been through many ups and downs, and lack of consistency still remains their worrying factor.
Although the Bills have most of the time performed this way, this year they were expected to do better given they invested a huge sum in their players. While their defence seems to have started repaying to them, offence remains a worry.
Overall, the team remains prone to a loss versus the Texans unless a miracle happens for them and they come out of the game as victorious. Otherwise, odds are in favour of their hosts.
