Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak preparing his team for quarterback Tim Tebow – NFL News
A team in downfall is often the most difficult team to prepare against. This is certainly true for Houston Texans who face the woeful New York Jets, who are struggling with injuries and poor output. They will face Jets in their Week 5 game on Monday, October
08, 2012.
Texans head coach Gary Kubiak has indicated that his team is preparing for a surprise performance from Jets players fully charged to make a comeback after a miserable show against San Francisco 49ers.
Talking to the media on Friday, October 05, Kubiak pointed towards one particular part of the Jets system of play to be of prime importance.
He was talking about their wildcat scheme and their dynamic backup quarterback Tim Tebow.
Kubiak reiterated that his team is preparing for not one but both of their quarterbacks. He said:
“We have to. This is very difficult to prepare for. You could face, obviously, the form of offense that they have run some with Tim and some of things Tim’s done in the past. Obviously, Mark, he’s played extremely well against us. It’s double duty from that
standpoint.”
Texans are the only remaining unbeaten team in the American Football Conference (AFC) and are currently topping their conference.
With the defence that is regarded as one of the best in the league, there might be an impression that Texans would not have to do any hard work to stop Jets offence who will take the field without their playmaker, wide receiver Santonio Holmes.
Texans utilised their dynamic practice-squad player Case Keenum during the practice sessions this week to prepare for the blitz of Tebow.
However, Kubiak believes that Jets coach Rex Ryan is capable enough to get the best out of available players. Kubiak carried on and said:
“It’s probably the most difficult team we’ve had to prepare for, really across the board. They do a lot defensively. Rex (Ryan) has got a ton of stuff and make you work on. So a lot of issues for us to get ready to play from a rep standpoint.”
