Houston Texans look to get back to winning ways against Baltimore Ravens - NFL Preview
After a humbling in week six against the Green Bay Packers, the Houston Texans will look to bounce back on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.
Before facing the Packers in week six, the Texans were one of two unbeaten teams in the National Football League (NFL) and boasting one of the best defences in the game.
However, they were picked apart with ease by Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers with the Texans defeated by a huge 42-24 margin.
They now have to bounce back right away against the Baltimore Ravens and prove that last week’s defeat was just a fluke.
The offence too will need to deliver after a poor performance against the Packers.
Star running back Arian Foster will look to get back to his best after a poor display against Green Bay where he was held for just 29 yards from 17 carries.
Quarterback Matt Schaub will also hope to get back to his best after failing to throw a touchdown in week six while also throwing two expensive interceptions.
Texans head coach Gary Kubiak talking to the media said:
"It's a humbling game. You play a lot of football and you're going to have some highs and lows. That's the first big low of the year. We've got other challenges coming our way, so how we handle those type of things will have a lot to do with what we are
when it's all said and done. It's a big disappointment, but we've got to move on."
The Texans offence will be happy to hear that the Ravens will be missing three of their best defensemen on Sunday with Ray Lewis, Lardarius Webb, and reigning defensive player of the year Terrell Suggs all unable to take part.
Baltimore though has a high flying offensive unit this year with quarterback Joe Flacco and running back Ray Rice both providing some brilliant performance this season.
Flacco ended last week’s game against the Dallas Cowboys with 234 yards passing and a touchdown while Ray Rice ran for two of his own touchdowns to help the Ravens win 31-29 in a close fought encounter.
Head coach John Harbaugh praised his offensive unit after the win and said:
"There have been many, many times where we've won because our defense has carried a heavy, heavy burden over the years. For our offense to carry some of that burden ... is a great thing."
It is a big game for both sides which boast the same 5-1 win-loss record and it is tough to pick a winner.
If the Ravens can stop Foster in his tracks despite their weak defence they have a big chance of victory in such a crucial encounter.
