Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub may miss rest of NFL regular season – NFL News
A Lisfranc injury has possibly forced the Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub to be out of the remaining part of the regular season of the American Football league, National Football League (NFL).
The reports pointing out the seriousness of Schaub injury came just one day after the Texan coach Gary Kubiak confirmed that the player was injured on a sneak. The incident happened while Schaub being coming out the end zone. He
was injured in the second quarter but continued to play till end of the game on last Sunday. The Houston Texans recorded a win over Tampa Bay.
News of Schaub being out for about a year, however, has not yet been confirmed by the player’s agent.
Houston's star receiver and Schaub’s team mate, Andre Johnson, has expressed optimism that the Schaub would soon be fit enough to join them in the line-up.
"It's just something we'll have to deal with," star receiver Andre Johnson said Monday night. "Hopefully, Matt won't miss the whole season. We're not sure exactly what it is, but we do know he'll have to miss some time. We're just
going to rally around Matt Leinart, and I think he'll go out and do a great job."
Johnson who himself was out for last six games due to a hamstring injury is expected to be back for the next weekend game. He was on the sideline for last Sunday's game.
The Texans courtesy of four consecutive wins now share their lead in the AFC with the Pittsburgh Steelers. They are leading at 7-3 in the AFC South.
While Schaub nurses his injuries on the sideline, the team’s coach has said that veteran Matt Leinart will likely be brought in. He, however, was not being included to replace Schaub and is expected to start at Jacksonville on
November 27.
Arizona had drafted Lineart at number ten in the season of 2006. Since then he has appeared in about a dozen games under the supervision of Coach Dennis Green.
