Houston Texans retain AP Pro32 league No. 1 ranking yet again – NFL News
The Houston Texans have continuously retained top spot in the overall AP Pro32 rankings of the National Football League (NFL) while teams behind them have frequently swapped the ratings.
It has been nearly a month now that the Texans have shown stubbornness to move away from the No. 1 position. They are also the only team from American Football Conference (AFC) South who have already made the playoffs this season.
With only single loss in the season so far, the Texans are aiming to end the season at a stronger note than other teams. They have four more games to play and by looking at their record it appears they are becoming a stronger side with passage of each game.
This is yet again a remarkable achievement by the Texans that they are one of a few teams in the league who have made the playoffs in two years successively. It appears that they have intentions to play the Super Bowl game. Their key strength of the season
is teamwork, in each game they have found offensive or defensive line performing to an optimum level to secure a victory.
While they maintain one of the few fastest offensive lines studded with stars like quarterback Matt Schaub, running back Arian Foster and wide receiver Andre Johnson, their defensive line has stayed among top five defences in the league.
When the team came on the field for the first time as Super Bowl contenders at start of the season, some commentators wrote them off as playoffs minnows. Their argument was a basis that the team had made the playoffs as one-time-off opportunity and they
were less likely to progress in the season for second time in row. The Texans proved them wrong completely.
It is not just that they have won their games, their consistent improvement in their game and maturity with passage of each game have spoken of their ability to learn and grow faster. Now the same commentators argue there is no reason why the Texans should
not reach the Super Bowl game, irrespective of the question whether win or lose.
