Hove set to hosts 11 open races on January 26
Hove will host 11 greyhound open races on Thursday, January 26, 2012. The spectators will be more interested in these events, as there will be one Grade A2 race at the start of the day as well.
The first open race of the day will be the Gala Coral 475, which will be a 515 metres race. It will be an exciting event, but Droopys Poirot will be expected to dominate it. He has been in terrific form over the past few months, and might get the favourite
price.
The P. Donovan’s trained greyhound was victorious in the last two events he took part in. His trainer will be expecting him to deliver the same sort of results in the future as well, especially in the open races.
Despite being the favourite to win, Droopys Poirot will not get away with a victory easily. He will face some stiff challenge from the rest of the pack, especially Malbay Phanter. The black dog has been trained extremely well by D. Childs, who will
be hopeful of a victory at Hove. However, only time will tell who prevails in the race.
The next open race will be the Coral Sprint. It will test the speed of all the greyhounds, considering the distance of 285 metres. The start will be crucial, as the momentum at the beginning is always important in a short distance race.
S. Cahill’s trained dog, Carden Bert, will be the favourite to win the sprint. He has been in decent form recently, and the bettors might invest a lot of money on him.
Next up will be the Gala Coral Standard 515 metres open race. The dog with good stamina will have better chances of winning it. Considering the recent performances of all the participants, Hailsham Hawk will be the favourite.
The D. Knight’s trained b***h has been delivering solid results over the past few races and is expected to do the same at Hove.
The next event will be the 285 metres Gala Coral Maiden Sprint, which will also be ideal for the greyhounds, who are good starters. There is always a chance of an upset in sprints.
A 475 metres Gala Coral open race will be the next event at Hove. Puma Girl, trained by D. Knight will be the favourite to win it. She has been a touch out of form over the past couple of races, but still has the ability to bounce back.
Sixth open race of the day will be Mad Maggie’s Manic Micro Minute Stakes, which is expected to be dominated by Spinkys Nod. It will be followed by the Gala Coral Maiden Sprint, which can be anyone’s race at the end of the day.
Three out of the final four events on the day will be the Gala Coral Maiden open races. A tough competition is expected in all of them, as the longer distance races always provide the spectators with some thrill.
The race with the maximum distance of 675 metres will be the Gala Coral Maiden Stayers. It will be the most exciting event of the day, and the bettors will be fully focused on its outcome.
Overall, Hove will provide plenty of action for the spectators tomorrow, and it will be interesting to see which greyhound proves to be the best of all.
