Hove to witness a fierce competition – Greyhound Racing Preview
A fierce competition amongst greyhounds is expected in the 515 metres Grade A5 Flat Race at Hove in England on Friday, February 10, 2012. All the participants in the event are closely matched, and will be battling hard for the winning prize money of
£119.
Four greyhounds have been awarded a starting price of 7 to 2 for this race, whereas a couple of them will enter with a rate of 4 to 1. This goes onto show the level of competition in today’s event, which is set to entertain the local spectators.
Out of the co-favourites, Gracious Nod has the best chance of winning, as she has been in good form over the past few months. Her last race at Hove turned out to be quite an impressive one, as she was able to win convincingly.
J. Gammon’s trained b***h is known for brisk starts, which help her gain momentum right from the beginning of a race. She will need the same level of stamina in order to win at Hove today.
The black b***h is the daughter of Hondo Black, out of Carloway Blossom, and was born in November, 2009.
Another b***h trained by J. Gammon, Fabulous Mystery, will also enter the event with a starting price of 7 to 2. Unlike Gracious Nod, she does not press hard at the start of the race, but increases her pace towards the end.
This could prove to be costly in short distance races, but it a very good skill to have in races above 500 metres.
Although Fabulous Mystery was unable to make an impression in her last outing at Hove, she has the ability of turning things around pretty quickly.
Her stamina could prove vital today, but she still needs to get off to a decent start in order to match the rest of the pack.
The black b***h is the daughter of Westmead Joe, out of Fabulous Carmen, and was born in September, 2009.
Jumeirah Bee, trained by D. Knight, is the third greyhound to enter the race with a starting price of 7 to 2.
He has been out of touch for the past couple of races, but has the ability to surprise others with his speed.
Running in such a tough race will not be an easy task for Jumeirah Bee, but the punters will still be interested in investing money on him. The black dog was born in August, 2008, and is the son of Tyrur Ted, out of Droopys Just Hot.
Ballymac Hart will be the last of the four greyhounds to begin with a starting price of 7 to 2.
He has got very good results in his last two outings at Hove, and is expected to challenge the other participants for race victory.
K. Tester’s trained dog won his last race at this venue, and he has gathered enough momentum from his previous races, coming into this one.
However, he will have to battle hard today, as victory will not come easy. He is the son of True Honcho, out of Ballymac Ria, and was born in September 2009.
The remaining two b*****s, Doidys Dream and Swift Savour have been given a starting price of 4 to 1 by the bookmakers. Both are seasoned runners and their experience could come in handy today.
Overall, this race will provide terrific entertainment to the fans, as the level of competition is quite high. It will also be challenging for the bettors, as most of the greyhounds are pretty evenly matched.
